FaceEDIT : An OpenGL Based Visual Tool for Facial Animation

FaceEdit is developed using OpenGL and GLUT. It has an interface including a menu and moving dialogs and buttons. It enables you to read 3D face models from VRML files. It keeps them in Winged-Edge Structure. The user can display the model from different angles with changeable view modes, can modify the 3D face model by selecting areas on the model. The program includes an option for setting MPEG-4 FP areas on the 3D face model, by showing pictures describing the standards. The user can undo or redo selections or modifications. When saving 3D face model into VRML file, Face Edit inserts a special code for FP areas as comments. After defining FP areas, FAPUs are automatically calculated from FP definitions. Then, a FAP sequence can be loaded and animated using user-set FP areas and FAPUs.
